Why do Thailand's beaches are most beautiful to travel ?

      

     The eastern Gulf coast. stretching south-east from Bangkok to the Cambodian border. The oldest and most well established of the resorts along this coast is densely developed Pattaya, although Gulf alternatives nearby are expanding with each passing season. The main advantage of the eastern Gulf resorts is their proximity to Bangkok, except for some of the islands, such as Ko Samet and Ko Chang, the beaches are not all that spectacular.

      The Malay peninsula extends 1600 km south-east from Bangkok, creating a slender land barrier between the South China Sea and the Indian Ocean. Lined on either side by sandy bays, lagoons, mangroves, islands and islets, over half the length of this peninsula falls within Thailand's borders.



       The west side of this peninsula, the Andaman coast, faces the Andaman Sea. This coastline is characterised by craggy cliffs and islands composed of a chalky limestone that dissolves to impart a deep turquoise hue to coastal shallows. Diving among the coral feefs in this area can be superb.

       Phuket, Thailand's largest island, is the Andaman coast's mosst popular resort, followed by Ko Phi-Phi and a number of up-and-comimg beaches and islands, including Ko Lanta to the South and Hat Khao Lak to the north. Travel to the more remote island groups is seasonal, since during the height of the south-west monsoon (May to October) the Andaman Sea becomes too rough for offshore navigation.


      More beach and island, Hua hin beach, Ko Samet, Ko Samui, Ko Chamg, Ko Kut, Ko Silmilan, Ko Surin, Ko Tarutao, Krabi beach, Ko Lanta, Trang beach, Ao Phang-gna, Hat Notpharat Thara, Krabi beach and Pattaya beach.


      These days in Thailand you are liable to meet people from all walks of life and from just about any country in the world, but when it comes to beaches and islands, certain types of visitors tend to favor certain areas. Phuket and nearby Hat Khao Lak attract a well-heeled middle-aged singles and couples crowd of Australians and Europeans who are most numerous in August, December and January. They rend to stay for a week or less.


      Older Europeans, Russians and families on short-stay budget packages tend to frequent Pattaya and increasingly, Hua Hin and Cha-am. Since these areas are within an easy afternoon's drive of Bangkok, both resort areas tend to be more crowded on weekends and holidays than at other times.
